The daughter of Polonius. Loves Hamlet and expects to marry him. Laertes tells her that this is impossible and she breaks up with him at her father's request. Later her heart is broken when she tries to reinitiate the relationship. When her father dies, she goes into a state of madness, which leads to her death. She drowns in a creek, many think that she commited suicide because she could have easily swam to the bank and been saved.
